Those who might be skeptical of such an endeavorby an adult are reassured by Clayton'syouth and by his steadfast refusal to become involved in adult issues.Clayton Giles has no gender-bias or hidden agenda. He has no politicalaffiliations. His message is clear - let children be children and letthem be so with both parents.You will not see me in any TV broadcast or newspaper, or hear me on anyradio program. It would be a terrible shame if the courage anddetermination of a fourteen-year-old boy were sacrificed in favor ofadult rhetoric.Journey for Kids has cost in excess of thirty thousand dollars to date,with further bills to be paid, such as the rental of the motor home,when the Clayton returns to Calgary. Almost this entire amount has comefrom Canadian sources but that is irrelevant to Clayton's desire toextend his Journey for Kids into the USA. There was never any doubt inClayton's mind, when he first conceived of this journey, that he shouldinclude America in his planning. He knew that the same problems beingexperienced by Canadian children were also a burden for Americanchildren. Clayton likes the United States and he likes the Americanpeople and therefore that is where he is going.Clayton needs help to complete Journey for Kids. If you can approachhotels or campgrounds in your area to offer complimentary accommodation,that would be greatly appreciated. Meals offered by restaurants and fueloffered by transportation companies is gratefully accepted. Donations inany amount you can afford get Clayton closer to Washington to deliverhis petition.
