Connecting to God is also called having Eternal Life...
Many people think or hope they have eternal life but they don't know for sure...
The Bible says...
"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the son of god so that you may know you have eternal life"
It is a common misconception that by being baptized or doing good works you will be guaranteed eternal life.
Jesus said in John 3:3-- "Verily, verily I say unto you except a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God."
It is not what we have done but what God has done for us that will secure our salvation. Ephesians 2:8 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God." Eternal life or salvation is free gift from God--you can't earn it.
It takes more than just believing there is a God to secure eternal Life. The Bible says that even the demons in Hell believe there is a god and it terrifies them. The answer is in Romans 10:9, "That if you shalt confess with your mouth the lord Jesus and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead you shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto salvation." Eternal Life comes through believing that Jesus is the Son of God and confessing Him as Lord.
If you believe Jesus is the son of God, and that He died for your sins and rose again, you can know for sure you have Eternal life. If you say this prayer and mean it with your heart, you shall be saved...and know you have Eternal Life.
PRAY--"God in heaven, I know I'm a sinner and I need your help. I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is your son, that He died on a cross for my sins and God raised him from the dead.
Jesus, right now I open my heart and invite you to come in. Make Yourself real to me. Take control of my life. Keep me from evil and make me the person you want me to be. Be my Lord and Saviour."
